Ever since I got a pizza oven for my backyard, homemade pies have been a weekly affair around here! My family can’t get enough of that crispy crust and melty, bubbly cheese. And I have to admit, I kinda love playing pizza chef outside by the pool.
There’s a bunch of different outdoor oven options out there nowadays. I went for a portable propane-powered model since I didn’t wanna deal with installing anything permanent. Let me tell ya, this baby cranks up hot—we’re talking 700 degrees plus, perfect for getting that beautifully charred crust. And it heats up fast too, going from zero to pizza-ready in about 15 minutes flat.
My brother got one of those fancy wood-fired brick ovens built into his outdoor kitchen. Talk about serious pizza envy! He fires it up with oak or hickory for an incredible smoky flavor. But I can still churn out some mean margherita and pepperoni pies from my propane oven, I’ll have you know.

Whether you wanna go freestanding or built-in, wood, gas or electric, there’s a pizza oven fit for every backyard these days. All I know is ever since we started making our own pies al fresco, pizza night has a whole new meaning in my household! You just can’t beat that homemade taste.
